The Clearaudio Performance DC AiR Turntable is a testament to the art of high-fidelity sound reproduction. The Performance DC AiR Turntable is distinguished by its inclusion of Clearaudio's patented Ceramic Magnetic Bearing (CMB). This innovative technology, which combines a polished ceramic inverted bearing shaft, a machined aluminum spindle top, and robust magnet rings, ensures minimal friction and isolates vibrational energy, thereby protecting your cartridge's sensitive stylus and enhancing the purity of sound.
The main composite chassis of the Performance DC AiR Turntable is an engineering marvel. It sandwiches a medium-density wood core between two substantial anodized aluminum plates. An additional band of anodized aluminum wraps around the plinth's core, giving the turntable a modern and elegant aesthetic that complements its superior performance.
The turntable is powered by a smooth-running DC motor, mounted to the composite main chassis and effectively decoupled for an enhanced dynamic range. The motor and belt, hidden from view to protect against dust and UV, drive a precision-machined aluminum sub-platter. This is coupled to a 40mm thick polyoxymethylene (POM) platter with a weighted rim, supported by Clearaudio's patented CMB.
The Performance DC AiR Turntable offers 33, 45, and 78 rpm speeds, selectable via blue illuminated buttons ergonomically integrated into the front left of the chassis. Fine speed adjustment is possible via user-accessible trim pots. The turntable comes fitted with a Tracer tonearm, with the option to upgrade to a Satisfy Carbon Fiber tonearm or TT-5 linear tracking tonearm.

- With Satisfy Carbon Fiber Tonearm: The standard option for this turntable is the Satisfy Carbon Fiber Tonearm, known for its lightweight design and superior sound quality.
- With Tracer Tonearm: For an additional cost, you can upgrade to the Tracer Tonearm for $6000. This tonearm offers improved tracking and reduced distortion.
- With Universal 9" Tonearm: For the ultimate in vinyl playback, opt for the Universal 9" Tonearm for $9000. This tonearm is renowned for its precision and versatility.
