Historical Context of "The Burial": Understanding the Era of Realism
The Shift from Romanticism to Realism in Art
The mid-19th century marked a significant transition in the art world. Artists began to move away from the idealized forms of Romanticism. Instead, they embraced Realism, focusing on everyday life and ordinary people. This shift reflected the changing social landscape of Europe, where industrialization and urbanization were reshaping society.Manet's Role in the Development of Modern Art
Édouard Manet stands as a pivotal figure in the evolution of modern art. His innovative approach challenged traditional artistic conventions. "The Burial" exemplifies his commitment to realism, capturing raw human emotion and the stark realities of death. Manet's work laid the groundwork for future movements, including Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.Influences of the Parisian Society on Manet's Work
Living in Paris during a time of social upheaval, Manet was deeply influenced by the vibrant culture around him. The interplay of light draws the viewer's eye to the central figure, emphasizing the emotional weight of the moment.Color Symbolism: The Emotional Impact of the Palette
The color palette in "The Burial" is rich with symbolism. Dark hues dominate the canvas, evoking feelings of sorrow and loss. The muted tones reflect the gravity of death, while subtle highlights suggest hope and remembrance. Symbolism of Death in 19th Century Art
Death was a prevalent theme in 19th-century art, often depicted with a sense of reverence and reflection. Manet's treatment of death invites contemplation on mortality and the human experience.Manet's Personal Connection to Themes of Loss
Manet's own experiences with loss influenced his portrayal of death in "The Burial." The painting resonates with his personal grief, adding layers of authenticity to the work. This connection enhances the emotional impact, making it a deeply personal reflection on mortality.Contrasting Life and Death: The Emotional Narrative
In "The Burial," Manet contrasts life and death through the expressions of the figures. The mourners' somber faces reflect their sorrow, while the serene depiction of the deceased suggests peace. This duality creates a powerful narrative that speaks to the complexities of human emotion.Artistic Techniques: Brushwork and Texture in "The Burial"
Impressionistic Elements in Manet's Technique
While "The Burial" is rooted in realism, it also showcases impressionistic elements. Manet's loose brushwork captures the fleeting nature of the moment. This technique adds a sense of immediacy, drawing viewers into the emotional landscape of the painting. The Role of Texture in Conveying Emotion
Texture plays a crucial role in "The Burial." Manet's varied brushstrokes create a tactile quality that enhances the emotional depth of the scene. The roughness of the canvas contrasts with the smoothness of the figures, emphasizing the tension between life and death.Innovative Use of Oil Paint: A Closer Look
Manet's innovative use of oil paint allows for rich color blending and layering. This technique adds depth and vibrancy to "The Burial." The oil medium enables him to capture the subtleties of light and shadow, enhancing the overall emotional impact of the work.Comparative Analysis: "The Burial" and Other Works by Manet

absolutely obsessed with how these make my car look. super warm in the winter, although i think i’ll have to take it off during the summer because my vents are blocked by how large the steering wheel cover is. i saw a lot of reviews saying it shed a lot, but honestly it has barely shed for me. i’ve had it for a month now and it’s holding up great so far. i do wanna warn everyone though, you CANNOT see your dash if you’re in a smaller car. i use waze which tells me my speed, but other than that i have to move the fur out of the way to see literally anything on my dash.

Looks and feels AMAZING! Better than the ad.

Recap... After a few months... The wheel is still Flufftabulous... There's a lot of lint accumulation on the dash and areas around the wheel but nothing like the shedding of my previous wheel. If this one ever wears completely out which i doubt... I'd definitely re-order.
It arrived the next day as promised. Vacuum sealed packaging so I opened it and brushed them out. There was minimal shedding while brushing. I was relieved since this is my 2nd fuzzy wheel ... the first was more of a shag carpet type of fur which was fluffy and fabulous but left tons of lint and dust bunnies. After 2 days there's been minimal to no shedding. It was easy to put on my standard sized steering wheel and fits snug and secure NO SLIPPING! I only gave it 4 starts because the gear shift cover could be fluffier. We'll see how it all holds up in GA heat. I'm happy with it so far, if anything changes .. I'll be back. I almost forgot... I included a pic to show the view of my dashboard isn't compromised at the position I have my s.w. in which is the highest level. If you like your wheel down in your lap, your dash won't be visible. Hope this helps... Enjoy Flufftabulous Wheel!

POLYESTER?!?!

POLYESTER?!?!
So i just bought several of these. Nice and big and fluffy, looked very clean, very nice. Cats instantly were scared/curious. The back of the skin, the wool, all looked nice, and then I noticed it had a tag on it... The tag says... 100% POLYESTER! What?!?!? This is supposed to be New Zealand Sheep Skin pelt! Shouldnt be any Polyester at all. So, just before I was about to return it, i did a small burn test. I cut off a small bunch of hair and burned it. The fire tried to light but it quickly extinguished itself. And the smell... yes... the smell told me it is REAL WOOL and the fact the fire went out right away also confirms this is not oil based. THIS IS REAL, This is NOT Polyester. I guess also a lot of ppl are returning because of the tag, so these are at a HUGE DISCOUNT!!! BUY THEM UP!!!
They also came in vacuum packed bags, looked nice and kept very nice. These are excellent!
See my photos, the tag, the burned bunch of hair... fire went out, i tried it three times, fire kept instantly going out... smells organic like animal hair when burned, not like oil/polyester. ENJOY!!! I PAID FOR THESE, I was not given anything here!

Love this product!
Color: Linen, Size: 2' x 3' (Pelt)
This sheepskin elevated a boring leather couch to a luxurious sitting space! I purchased 2, one for each loveseat, as sometimes the leather is a little cold. The sheepskin with a small lumbar pillow and voila! A cozy place everyone gravitates to! The sheepskin is soft and cozy and everyone comments they want one! ha probably will get this as a couple of gifts (for those guests that said they wanted one too)
