Scientists have found the hard, net-like pieces from Microdictyon in rocks from the Lower Cambrian period. These pieces seem to be from its armor and might have been shed when it grew.
❃ It had ten pairs of these net-like pieces on its sides, which some people thought might be eyes, but that idea isn't widely accepted. Its head and tail were like tubes without any special features.
