This tea cosy is knitted in Allium Threads Catkin Silk Boucle yarn and naturally coloured Blue Faced Leicester/ Masham four ply yarn.

This tea cosy is to pop on a teapot and keep the tea warm. The large tea cosy (Sheepish) is designed to fit a standard (six cup) tea pot. 

IMPORTANT: If you find that your teapot dribbles, please rinse the tea cosy in cold water before the tea dries to ensure it doesn’t stain the wool.

There is a seperate kit available for a smaller one (a Little Sheepish) is designed to fit a small (two cup) tea pot.

The main yarn is Catkin which is a Silky Boucle. This is a really fun yarn. It is very soft and bouncy and is made of 70% Silk, 30% non-superwash Super-fine Merino.

The contrast for the head is a grey Blue Faced Leicester/Masham blend.

Also included are two buttons for eyes, a small amount of black cotton yarn for the nose and polyester stuffing to stuff the head.

It would make a great gift for the knitter in your life. It is packaged an organza bag.

I have tried to capture the colour of the yarn as accurately as possible. Please bear in mind that monitors vary and colours can be perceived differently.

Due to the nature of hand dyeing, the colours in each skein may be slightly different and no two skeins will be identical. As with any hand dyed wool, if using more than one skein then alternating skeins on every couple of rows will help to balance any slight differences.

I have rinsed the yarn until it runs clear. However, some dye may remain.
I recommend you soak your finished item in a gentle/pH neutral soap. Natural dyes can change or fade slightly as they age. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight and store in a dark place.
