A separate Translator's Annex includes an account of the Hindenburg's final approach to Lakehurst by Albert Sammt, the pilot at the time of the disaster. Another paper from the Nigel Caley collection, prepared by the German Investigation Commission in 1938 details their recommendations for making the LZ 130 safer for operations with hydrogen. Finally a helium timeline charts significant dates and events in the search for a safer alternative to hydrogen as a lifting gas.
