Lories and lorikeets that adapt to this diet will experience drier droppings compared to when they are on nectar. For birds that are habitual egg-layers or those prone to hypocalcaemia, such as African Greys, it’s recommended to mix 2/3 Maintenance with 1/3 High-Energy Breeder to enhance calcium and vitamin D3 intake. Avoid adding extra vitamin or mineral supplements. You can offer fresh fruit and vegetable treats as a small component of their overall diet.
