Nase: This year’s 12 year old cask strength kicks off with notes of marzipan, smoked meats, and a smokiness akin to burnt matches.
Gaumen: The smoky, earthy note continues on the palate and a nuttiness is introduced in notes of pistachios. Notes of caramelized brown sugar, prunes and custard round out this dram.
Abgang: A sea salt note emerges in the finish along with notes of red apple skin.
Springbank: Das Flaggschiff heißt schlicht Springbank– und wird wegen seines legendären Salztons gerne als „der Maritime“ bezeichnet. Leicht getorft und 2,5 fach destilliert, wurde der Single Malt schon 1828 zum ersten Mal abgefüllt und ist heute in den Altersstufen 10, 12, 15, 18 und 21 Jahre erhältlich. Dabei ist jede einzelne Abfüllung ein individuelles Geschmackserlebnis: Bei der für 10 Jahre gereiften Edition etwa spielt das Aroma mit dem Geschmack süßer Früchte und Honig und variiert dies unnachahmlich mit einem feinen Torfton. Rundum ausgewogen im Geschmack, mit einer tiefen und dennoch unaufdringlichen Malznuance und stets präsenter rauchiger Note ist dieser Whisky lang und elegant im Abgang. Erhältlich in 46 % Vol. und Cask Strength.
